Hostas are starting to show themselves in my garden. This section is in the front yard garden. I look forward to these, like the rest of the flowers and plants every year. Another perennial. Cut it back at the end of the season and it comes back bigger each year. I separate it when I cut it back and have more plants. This type is variegated. There is also a type with solid green leaves. I prefer the variegated. But I have both and they look well together, the compliment each other.
I did not know this until recently but the Hosta is a genus of plants commonly known as hostas, plantain lilies (particularly in Britain) and occasionally by the Japanese name giboshi. Hostas are widely cultivated as shade-tolerant foliage plants.

Beautiful, I think I have this plant but not as fresh or beautiful as your.
Thank you Robin. I cut mine back each year, that’s about all I do.
Thank you so very much! 🙂
So sorry to know nothing about these beautifull plants, hope to know more about them with your help!
No need to apologize, we all have different plants.
What a great picture and lovely flower! Awesome!
Thank you Doc, I love these plants.
Someday, when the years of tending my father’s garden wear off (if ever) I shall again have a garden.
I hope you get to that day Doc. If only a small garden.
Love its bright green… very pleasing to see!!
I don’t think I’ve seen a Hostas before or probably just me not paying enough attention to plants around me…
Thanks, I love the green on this particular variety.
This is a very popular plant in our area. We have some growing in our yard. They are edible, BTW.
Did not know they were edible, I will just look at them for now. 🙂
I have never grown hostas, but the more I hear about them the more interesting they become. Every home needs a few plants that do well in shade.
They are so easy to maintain.
I have never heard of the hostas plant but thank you for sharing it on this site.
I am surprised, they seem to be everywhere. Thanks to you!
You are welcome Carol DM.
I have this plant and I love it very much
Good for you Branka.
