Compensate – 365 Photos Challenge #12

While cycling from downtown Chicago, I took an alternative route back to my apartment and encountered this interesting sculpture at Jesse White Community Center Park. The title of this sculpture is ‘Compensate’ by Abiola Akintola, who is a Nigerian-born artist. Abiola has worked both as a painter and sculptor; he uses a variety of materials, including paint, metal, wood, clay, and discarded objects that he finds on the street. His interest in working with found objects, such as discarded soda cans from which he extracts shredded metal, has given him the label of “the Green Revolution Artist.”

As for these photos they were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S8, and shared as part of the 365 Photos Challenge, which the rules and guidelines are listed if you would like to participate.

  1. Yay! I’m happy you like because I have plenty more pending. Outside of many things going on in my life I’m trying to capture many throughout the city.
