High in vitamin A, C, K, and folate, spinach is also high in manganese and has a glycemic load index of 0, so it is great for diabetics. This is a negative calorie food.
I do too. I also like it steamed and boiled. I also add it to my minestrone soup.
I learned to love spinach from Popeye otherwise my mom had a hard time getting it in me. Now I love in various ways even spinach salads.

It is sort of funny, too, regarding Popeye. It was once thought that spinach was extremely high in iron, and it was that which led to the Popeye cartoon. It turns out that it is high in iron and not quite as high as chard, but it isn’t *extremely* high in iron. When the amount of iron was first figured out and written down, a decimal point was put in the wrong place, indicating that spinach had 100 times more iron than it has. :))

I love all greens and vinegar is a great addition to them.

I tend to saturate cooked spinach in cider vinegar. But then, the vinegar is good for a person, too.

Absolutely, I learned from my dear Grandmother how good vinegar is for you. When we got sick, no matter what it was, we got vinegar water mixed with honey. It helped! I still do that to this day.

Not surprised about these…they are low calorie anyway. Make a good smoothie!

Spinach is good in a lot of ways. I even like it when it is added to green salad, especially if the leaves are small.
I can understand…it’s one thing I COULD eat as a salad…but I prefer to drink it lol

LOL…I can certainly think of worst tasting salads than one with just baby spinach and tomatoes, maybe even with some nasturtium leaves thrown in for good measure.

Spinach is one reason I’m anxious for spring to get here. We’re still a few months away, but I want to plant a bunch this year.
