As popular as they are, raw tomatoes are also negative calorie. Tomatoes have iron, vitamin C, and several anti-oxidants, yet they have a low glycemic load index.
Cannot live without them and when I cannot get fresh I get jarred or canned.

That is the biggest reason I tend to grow so many tomato plants each year. Everyone in the household loves them and in the rare instance when we have extra, they are easy to can. :))

We mustn’t forget fried green tomatoes, either. :)) That is a favorite of mine.

You’d fit right in around here, though you’d have to get in line before my daughter had the chance. She can’t get enough fried green tomatoes.

Oh my goodness, fried green tomatoes are the best!

Surprised these are on the list…I like tomato in stuff if it’s pureed/sauce

There you go! They are something that is good for you, they are negative calorie, and you like them. That sounds like a winning combination.

Not really negative in carbs though lol! That’s my only complain

If nothing else is added to the tomatoes when making the sauce or puree, they’d be negative calorie. That means that you could make your own and control what went into it.

Well there are still the natural sugars…I personally am more concerned about carbs than calories….I need carb negative foods lol

i like making my own homemade tomato sauce for raw vegan pasta dishes.

I like doing that, too, especially for spaghetti sauce or chili con carne. For that matter, I also like homemade salsa. Of course, I just like tomatoes and occasionally have a tomato salad…just tomatoes and dressing. Tomato sandwiches aren’t bad, either.
