North Island Robin

This is a North Island Robin, that lives on Tiritiri Matangi Island in Auckland’s Hauraki gulf.

Yes, the species of bird is an endangered species, which is why it lives in a bird sanctuary. Here the birds sometimes follow you around and they often sit on the ground in front of you. They are a special bird.

Cats would easily get this bird, it wouldn’t have a chance against cats.  I love cats, I don’t like them killing birds. Its nature. So cats can’t come to this island.

It’s great some people get together and try to help these small birds in New Zealand.

  1. Such a cute little bird! I’m like you, I love cats, but I don’t like it when they kill other animals. Especially domestic cats, since they are being fed anyway.
