After submitting a Sex in the City post on here, I was thinking about the TV prequel to this series, which is about Carrie Bradshaw as a teenager, and how she became the fucked up Carrie on Sex in the City. I soon realized that the script and story writing for the both series sucks because they are inconsistent with each other, as if two different writers wrote each a series, and they forgot to read the first one before writing the second one.
This is actually the episode where Carrie confides to this male friend employee after she gets drunk, but this paricular clip doesn’t have that particular scene. I am not sure if it come before or after this clip. For example, in the Sex in the City scene, where Carrie Bradshaw gets a writing job at Vogue Magazine, she is hanging out with an older man employee, which is actually similar to the Devil Wears Prada scene between Andrea Sachs and an older man employee at Runway Magazine, Carrie confides to this older man that her man issues has to do with her father leaving her mother and younger sister when she was very young, indicating abandonment issues. Well, in the prequel series, when Carrie was a teenager, Carrie and her little sister live with their father, and their mother recently died of some illness. By the end of the Carrie Diaries season, Carrie gets a job in NYC as a writer, and she decides to move there and pursue her dream after high school, although her father wants her to go to college. She had gotten a summer internship in NYC, which lead her to meet a female editor of a magazine, in which she eventually hired Carrie. So, Carrie quit the first internship for a law firm to work an internship writer job for this woman. Then, at the end of the summer, this woman offers Carrie a full-time writer job, in which Carrie excitedly accepts. He appears to disown her because of her decision to skip college and move to NYC. Therefore, this is actually the issue she has with men, which stems from her father not approving of her decision to move to NYC and become a writer.
Now, this is a flashback to Carrie’s teen years, in the series Carrie Diaries, but this video is just an interview with the main character, who played Carrie as a teenager, as she promotes this series when it was first aired, which is a couple of years ago.
There are other scenes like that which don’t make sense, especially if you have watched both the sequel and prequel, and it just doesn’t follow. I think these writers are so stupid, and they are just writing whatever comes out of their ass to make money on the public, hoping the public are even dumber and they won’t be able to recognize all the inconsistency and their stupidity.
I added two videos from both series, just as a sample, although I couldn’t find the exact clips on YouTube. I tried to summarize the scenes, according to what I remember for the story.
Try to dissect any episode of the TV show “Scandal”. Olivia forever saves the day!!! The first few years were good, but then the storyline just got preposterous. Every episode is a mess and I finally became an un-viewer! I’ve never watched the series show “Sex in the City” so unable to comment. Great post! 🙂
There are supposed to be people who ensure continuity but some shows take it more seriously than other shows…
maybe they realized that their viewers are stupid people into drugs, sex, and liquor as well as shopping for designer items that they figured none would no the difference anyway.
Doubtless this was their insidious plan all along, and they wouldn’t have gotten away with it, too; if it wasn’t for that meddling Fifi…
many movies and tv shows are like that. it is all about the money. has nothing to do with quality.
It used to be your show made money, it attracted talent and all that talent attracted money. Now it is like “talent is getting in the way, gotta ditch it. We don’t need it, it was just holding us back from mediocrity…”
I blame reality tv
the zionist media is doing stuff on purpose to mess with the public’s mind with their propaganda and bs. i used to watch american idol, survivor, and dancing with the stars, but now i dont watch any of it because it is getting annoying. reality show was entertaining in the beginning, but they have made it more annoying and stupid that it is getting old….
An important reminder for everyone.
i have noticed it in other tv series and movies, but i can’t remember which ones. that is why when i get bored of what i am watching, i decide to analyze it for fun…
I wrote this post to explain the importance of doing research before doing any project.
