National protest, day 56, Sofia, Bulgaria.
For 56 days now, the people of Bulgaria have been protesting against the management of a coalition cabinet with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
In practice, the protest is against widespread corruption at the top and the use of the prosecution as a tool to intimidate competitors.
These events are hardly covered abroad. It is difficult to understand how such corruption could spread in an EU country. And the behavior of the state leadership as if it were a dictatorship.
peaceful protests are the cure for old thinking!
Unfortunately, the protest was bloody. Today I will be in the square again!
some of the ones in the US have done so…
This government is a very strange hybrid of an EPP (European People’s Party) party and nationalists. Prime Minister heads the government’s third time as the previous two times was ousted by protests. In the last elections, through machinations, he managed to form a coalition cabinet.
it is a hard time in the world to be a politician right now
What’s worse is that most of the deputies and the cabinet were agents or collaborators of state security – part of the repressive apparatus in the years when Bulgaria came under the influence of the USSR.
wasn’t putin involved with the KGB?
State Security, the Securitate in Romania or the Stasi in the GDR – all subordinated to the KGB!
It looks like you have a very colorful parade for your national day.
When we celebrate, we sing and rejoice, not call for RESIGNATION!
It’s time to get rid of the old way of thinking. I hope that Bulgaria will see reform.
It is very difficult! Especially when power is in the hands of corrupt politicians.
If possible, please continue to post protest photos because about 7 people saw your post after I placed it on social media

Wow that is a long time for protest. I hope for a peaceful end soon.
Until today, the protest was relatively calm, but since the parliament started working today, the passions have heated up.
