The consumption of processed meats can cause serious and irreversible damage to the brain. Scientists warn that these foods contain dangerous preservatives and that in turn increase the appetite and intake of other foods that are also of little benefit to health.
People who develop dementia are more likely to have eaten processed meat, such as hamburgers and sausages, cold cuts and refined carbohydrate-rich foods such as potatoes, crackers and cakes throughout their lives. and also of having consumed more alcoholic beverages.
The way in which food is eaten – and not just the amount – is extremely relevant for preventing dementia. People who do not develop neurological disease often accompany meat or fish with foods such as vegetables and fruit.
It has been known for many years that maintaining a balanced and healthy diet, low in processed products, can have benefits for the optimal functioning of the brain.

Thank you, this is very informative.
Very interesting and probably true. Processed anything is not good for you. I am trying to cut back on meat, especially red, and add more vegetables to our diet here.
do you have a link to the study for this? I’ve seen conflicting data on both sides, other than the fact the most processed meats are not good for you, due to salt and other things used during the creation of the processed meat…
I don’t eat processed meat. I am not a meat lover and I rarely eat it. I always cook at home.
I have said no but must admit I do eat but rarely.
