Experimenting with food

I love to cook and experimenting with food is always fun. With my youngest son at home and hubby working from home I spend a major part of my day in the kitchen.

It gets boring to make the same things over and over again , so I have been experimenting with stuff. This was Lasagna and pizza rolled into one. I made a huge pizza base, added the rague sauce over it,  just threw in all the tomatoes and basil in my garden into this dish. The basil in my garden is growing wild and needed a heavy pruning. I went a bit low on the cheese though.

All the stems of the basil were promptly planted back into the garden. I also added peppermint and oregano which have been growing quite well in my garden  into the ragu.  The dish came out smelly heavenly and tasted awesome.

The common joke going around in our circles is , how will we get through the door when the lock down is lifted? I guess we are eating way to much right now, over compensating for the lack of other activities.

  1. I have a colleague we work with in a house. We planted mint, parsley and dill. We make a garden. Have you used minced meat, which is a characteristic product of lasagna? I like it when I experiment with food so I get unique dishes.
