Excited to see the first hummingbird of 2020 at my deck yesterday. As soon as I saw her, I came in and prepared the nectar and hung the feeder.
Amazing how they migrate each year, then return to the same places as last year. They remember where the feeders were. And so tiny at just two to three inches long. Incredible how they survive.
This one is a Ruby-Throated female. The males have a red throat, easy to distinguish.

When I was a kid I used to think that humming birds hum as in hummmm. hehehe
So you see these birds in your area? I love the sound they make.
Yes but not exactly the same as the ones in the states.
my neighbor has two hummingbird feeders but I haven’t seen any yet this year.
It may be a little early for your area.
we are the same temperate zone, just not has many feeders around us I would suspect.
Well that explains it. They need the feeders.

This is a really cute bird. We do not have these birds in our country.
