I took this photo of sharks fin soup when I had dinner with my friend at a traditional Chinese Restaurant two weeks ago.
Shark fin soup is one of the most popular in Chinese Cuisine. A traditional Chinese Restaurant is not complete without the soup in the menu.
Shark fin soup is famous in Chinese culture because it is believed to have health benefits such as it’s good for the skin, and lowers cholesterol therefore it’s good for the heart maybe due to the presence of Omega oil present in fish species

I do not believe the fin is so good for the health. I think humans want to say they have eaten a soup made of a fin.
I do not want to have it. Chinese kill sharks only to get the fin and they throw the shark to the sea without the fin, it is very cruel, they die hours later. They only want the fin to make a soup. I will never eat it.
Actually some said that they just call them sharksfin but they are fake ones. Some are just fins from small fish.
Never had it before but wouldn’t mind trying it
You just gave me an option to look for when I dine out at a Chinese restaurant. Gonna look up some places at this very moment on Yelp ; )
Do not eat it. It is very cruel. They throw the shark to the sea without the fin and the shark dies hours later. They only want the fin to make a soup. Do you really think the fin is so magical for our health or they like to say they are eating the fin of a shark???

Might be hard to find at restaurants here in Chicago. I looked on Yelp, but most restaurants here do not have it on their menu
