Lightweight Ryan Garcia is currently one of the best prospects in boxing. At only 21 years of age, he improved his record to 20-0 with 17 KO’s with a first round knockout of Francisco Fonseca (25-2-2) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. To have this many wins under his belt at this age when some boxers only fight once or twice a year shows that he has a very strong work ethic.
This fight was over rather quickly as Garcia started the round off quickly by alternating between using a left jab and a left hook. He ended up catching Fonseca with a left hook with about two minutes left in the round that hurt Fonseca. Then, he caught Fonseca with another hook 10 seconds later that staggered Fonseca. Then, he knocked Fonseca out with another hook 10 seconds later to win the fight in about 80 seconds.
The reason why Garcia was able to find his hook so quickly was because he would fake like he was throwing a jab, but would land the hook repeatedly. He has the potential to be one of the best boxers in the game if he continues to develop his boxing skills.
I wish him continued success with his boxing career.
Ryan absolutely has an amazing career ahead of him; he is like a mini version of Oscar
