Fujichrome 100 Exposure not recorded
Scanned using a Wolverine F2D Mighty scanner.
Editing was done using ACDSee Ultimate 2020. I reduced the exposure a bit and increased the contrast. Then I adjusted the lighting and increase the clarity and the vibrance. I increased the saturation in the greens and reduced it in the yellows and adjusted the levels.

Were you aware that, due to the recent wildfires, the koala may become extinct in the wild?

Yes

No

I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing the info. I haven’t seen the koala yet.
When I wrote this the reports I had heard said that the situation was more more dire than it turned out to be.
Even in our country, they have already talked about this problem. This is very sad.
It would be a real disaster if such a lovely animal goes extinct
Very true. When I read about it, I was very depressed.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to help
From what I’m hearing now, the initial statements about the amount of damage were wrong. Not anywhere near as much of the habitat was destroyed as first stated and they are not in danger.
This is very nice and good news
I read that story Gary but I think it is untrue, or at least I hope so. Love these bears. Such a great edit.
In the article I read it said that about 80% of their territory had been destroyed. However, when I read the article I was thinking that Australia has these fires every year. Are they that much worse this year or are the fires in a different location? I don’t know the answer.
I did not know they had fires every year. Very sad.
I want to hope they will be protected.
I saw the news about the fires and the impact. What is most sad is that it appears to be a fire that was set on purpose. Shameful.
I hadn’t heard that it was arson. If that’s the case, I hope they find the person who did it.
They are such lovely bears and it’s heartbreaking to think they may become extinct in the future
it is an internet myth that the Koala will become extinct because of the fires. It has impacted the population greatly but they are not in the critically endangered category.
I hope so but I’m not convinced that it’s not true. The article I read said that it’s not so much that the animals were killed but that their habitats were destroyed.
There are a number of Australian Naturalists that pointed out over and over, that the destruction of their habitat wasn’t as complete as originally stated. The reality of what happened is tragic, but not something that is an extinction event.
I’m glad to hear that. I hadn’t heard any of it.
It is hard to get good information on the internet.
Sad situation if this animal getting extinct.
Unfortunately there are a lot of animals going extinct.
I hope that they are saved and protected.
I believe the fires are still going on although I haven’t heard anything for a couple of days. It’s not looking good.
