While I’m out, delivery food … I actually came across a handful of people who create danger due to their attitude … What do I mean?
I can only say its their choices that cause the danger to themselves and others.
Just few weeks back, our government have banned e-bike and e-scooter on our footpaths. They cannot ride on the footpath, and if they need to get on one, they have to dismount and push. These transport devices are however allowed on the bicycle paths and some other “special” paths.
Just the other day, I saw 2 ladies walking on the bicycle paths. Then came an e-scooter, the younger lady told the older one to step aside to the footpath, which is just right beside. And the older lady said, “why do we need to be afraid of them? What can they do? I’ll walk on the bicycle path and in the middle!” and so she did. There was a near miss but fortunately no one was hurt.
There was one more, one that I encountered myself. I was riding my bicycle (bicycles are still allowed on footpath) and was passing this old man face to face. He suddenly raised his umbrella in my direction! I was going slow, so I stopped in time, but it was a close call! Seriously!
While I do think we should do something about e-scooters as they do cause a lot of accidents, I think it’s unfair to put the blame on just one side. Especially now that some of the pedestrians have that “triumph attitude” that riders and cyclists should and always will give way to them even when they’re being unreasonable or moving suddenly across lanes!

people are idiots. it doesn’t matter if you had the right of way when you’re dead
Yah! Exactly what I think!!
but to even lack such a basic survival instinct as self preservation?
we have this problem in DC it is truly scary.
I guess this problem is not exclusive … LOL
but I do hope that the hostility between pedestrians and riders could be lesser.
that my friend would be awesome!
You just have to be careful out there because there will always be disgruntled people and they just don’t realize the danger they put others in
Yes, thank you, I’ve been extra careful. 🙂
Wow, what a strange attitude. We have special paths for cycling next to pedestrian paths, and I would never get an idea to walk on paths for bicycles.
Well, some people just doesn’t realise the danger, I guess …
or they do have that triumph attitude … 😕
That is too bad you have to encounter these types of dangerous situations. Be careful out there.
And I need that sign! 🙂
LOL >W<
Why do you need that sign?
But I think I need that sign too!! Gonna place one on the front of my bicycle :p
Long story about the sign. 🙂
