When we were kids mother would scrape the skin of the bark of this tree and prepare a decoction if anyone had a billious attack and it did its job perfectly.
She warned us however to be careful of the fruits as they were poisonous and we obeyed her.
Much water has flown under the bridge and yours truly now safely recommends the use of the Noni fruit which is packed with health properties.
It is a fruit all rolled into one. Those who have Diabetes worship it as it helps them in full measure. The only drawback is that it cannot be eaten unless it is fermented and juice extracted. When ripe it has an obnoxious smell. The fermentation process is not something many will go for as there again that smell will overpower. The best therefore is to hand over those fruits for commercial use. Juice is freely available in stores.
However cuckoos simply love the fruit and these birds are seen perched on these trees for hours.

A supplement based on noni used to be very popular a few years ago, but I never tried it.
Nature has lots to offer but we never make use of her services. I too have so many herbs and plants in my garden which I just ignore.
That’s true! Here we have so many herbs and plants we don’t even know.
I’ve never heard of this tree. Thanks for sharing the info
This awareness these days and we get that juice in bottles.
Not familiar with this, sounds very beneficial.
It is sold in bottles and many go for it.
I think I have seen them but not very sure. They’re are usually green, aren’t they?
They are green to start with and then turn yellow.
The fruit that smells unpleasant we call mengkudu. My father used to consume the juice to overcome diabetes.
Your father must have bought that juice as making it at home many would not want to go through it more because of the smell it has.
To be honest, my mother made the juice, my father drank it, and we children were fascinated by the smell.
That is interesting to know that you were fascinated by the smell. It smell bad (lol)
Yes, we have no choice but to survive so we don’t vomit…
Thank you for sharing and letting us know about the health benefits, I have never heard about this tree or its fruit, I do see by the advertisements that you can get the supplements with Noni online,
Buying it is the best option as fruits cannot be eaten nor can one process them at home.
