And finally I know what this flower is called. I called it sweet peas as that is what the nuns called them. We were taught to make paper flowers and we quite believed them when they gave names to the flowers. Luckily they called a rose a rose (lol)
It was not easy for me to get the name of this flower. I am on a couple of garden forums and here is where one user came up with this link where it has all the details.

I am no good when it comes to names of flowers and just like the nuns I too christen them to suit my fancy. There is a flower in my garden which I call snow bush as when they fall on the ground they resemble snowflakes

I am good with flower names. I try to find out as much as I can about each plant as I see them.
I have noticed that. I too should move in that direction.
Hey the nuns may not have been wrong as the flowers are quite similar in shape and arrangement of petals.
Yes. One single round petal. I still feel I am in that class and following her instructions.
I paint a lot of flowers when I don’t even know their name … I’m more bad at identifying flowers
I give them my own name – too lazy to search (lol)
But you know each other well, dear Grace
Nice way of putting it. (lol)
I know the flowers in my area. These are very pretty.
You are good with names of birds as well
Very nice flower thank you very much.
It lasts for months specially during Christmas time.
I am not good with flowers’ names, this is a beautiful one.
Now that we have access to the Net it should not be difficult
They look great and thanks for sharing the name
I have decided to take the trouble to search for names
