  1. I got 10 correct. Once upon a time Slovenia and my country, Serbia were republics of the same country named Yugoslavia. I never mix those two countries, but now I made few mistakes where right answers were “both” because I don’t know much about Slovakia. 🙂

    • Zaklina, I remember that time well. I was there several times, and of course never knew when I was passing from Slovenia to Croatia, from Serbia to Macedonia. Great memories!

      • I’m glad you had an opportunity to see the country I was born in, before it was teared apart. And now, there are boundaries everywhere both on the ground and people’s hearts and minds. I was so happy to see many of former Yugoslavia’s residents here, on Virily and to correlate with them. 🙂

      • Maybe when something feels close and familiar, we are not that tempted to learn about it or we think that we already know enough. Also, the more powerful countries take a bigger place in our education (at least for my generation). Both Slovenia and Slovakia are interesting countries, though.

        • Yes that make sense. Ellie, especially the “thinking we know enough” bit! I drove through Slovenia on a bus a couple of times (when it was still Yugoslavia), but I have never been to Slovakia – although right now I am having a short break in Prague – so very close 🙂
