Many people actively garden. A lot more want to garden, but can’t for various reasons. Some people lack space to garden and grow most of their plants in containers. Other people grow many things in a small area, optimizing the space they have. For yet other people, space isn’t an issue. Many places even offer community garden space to allow people to grow a garden when they don’t have room to do so at home.
Gardening is a worthwhile endeavor. It can save money, the gardener is in control of what chemicals, if any, are used, and gardening is a good form of exercise. A typical gardener expends about 300 calories per hour in planting and tending to the garden. Many people firmly maintain that produce out of the garden tastes much better than produce that is purchased at the store. There is also a lot of satisfaction that comes from growing a garden.
Gardeners even tend to be healthier than people who don’t garden. There could be several reasons for this, including those already mentioned. Another reason is that gardeners usually eat what they grow and this can mean an increase in the amount of fruits and vegetables they consume. For that matter, they also often get more sunshine than people who don’t garden.
The following is a general quiz about gardening, fruits, and vegetables. This is meant to be a fun and informative quiz, so a person who doesn’t have a garden can enjoy the quiz, too.
