Weeds are Flowers Too, Right?

Weeds are flowers too. Most of them are actually. Some will take over, others are as beautiful as the flowers we plant. Snapped a photo of these teeny tiny purple weeds in my garden. I love the little blooms. I almost missed them they were so tiny.

Here are a few quotes to share about weeds. I think I must be obsessed with quotes these days. This first one is a favorite one mine.

Criticizing another’s garden doesn’t keep the weeds out of your own.  ~Author Unknown

What is a weed?  I have heard it said that there are sixty definitions.  For me, a weed is a plant out of place.  ~Donald Culross Peattie

Crabgrass can grow on bowling balls in airless rooms, and there is no known way to kill it that does not involve nuclear weapons.  ~Dave Barry

  1. that is a tough question, do you kill weeds. It truly depends on the weed.

Poison Ivy – removed and kills.
    Dandelions – removed and killed
    wildflowers (native Maryland flowers), kept!

  2. A lot of plants called weeds are brought in garden centres overseas, so my personal opinion, is that a weed that is invasive and prevents some other plant from growing should be removed.

  3. A weed is a plant that is unwanted, unwelcome but still grows uncared for to prove it is migtier than the ones that need so much care.
