As usual I got to bed early. I do not trade my sleep for anything in the world not even to watch TV where there are always programmes to bring in the New Year
But I was expecting that my sleep would be distrubed by crackers at the dot of twelve midnight. It did not happen. There is a house closeby who are multi billionaires who create that shindig each year.
Could it be they were on holiday somewhere in the world? Could it be I was sound asleep?
I think it was the latter. What a beautiful way to bring in the New Year!!!

Happy new year Grace, I think your missing multi-billionaires had their shindig right next to our home. It is 2 am. and the canons and 80 mm. mortars are only dying down now. I had to try to calm down our terrified dogs. I wonder, is this ritual happening to this extent because it’s been too long since a world war, perhaps?
