Early this morning I decided to go out for a walk exactly after a month. There was not a soul on the streets as I stepped out. I had the road to myself for most part of my walk. There were no stray dogs in sight either, which was a surprise for me, we have a bunch of healthy looking strays in our neighborhood.
However, what got my attention was the number of flowers blooming. along the roadside. There were Asystasia Gangetica or the Chinese Violets, Â blue morning glories and mirabilis of all colors and sizes. These are usually trampled upon and they don’t look so lovely, The trees looked green and healthy devoid of the dust from the passing vehicles.
Birds filled the skies and there were a bunch of goats walking all around like they owned the place. I have never seen them in our neighborhood before.
It wasn’t a long walk according to my standards but it was a peaceful, enjoyable walk for me. I didn’t enjoy wearing my mask as it made me sweat profusely, but what is a small annoyance compared to getting out of the house after a whole month after the lockdown.
The simple joys of life seemed even more enjoyable after a long break. It broke my heart to realize how much harm we cause to nature around us.

I assume you enjoyed the walk very much. Only now do we notice what we are doing to nature.
Seems you have had a great walk. Yes, the flower is beautiful and humans are destroying the planet.
Gorgeous photos! I agree with you.
Thank you Ellie. I was hoping to get out today but there was a steady drizzle.
You are right, we harm the nature too much.
I wish we care more about our environment.
I always feel a connection with you Dawn. We feel the same about nature. We have a need to protect. I wish others felt the same. Beautiful blooms. Glad you got out for a walk.
I feel the same way about you Carol. I felt the connection the moment I landed here on Virily. đ
Umm, great I love it.. đ
Thank you, have a great day.
you’re welcome Dawn!!!!!!!
Aldo Leopold (biologist) once wrote that man’s desire to eradicate nature, should start within! For until we remove nature from man, we are simply killing ourselves.
I love this, we really need to remove that destructive nature within.
i live by that quote. my new goal is removing that from myself!
Dying to self would be the Christian version of this philosophy.
yes, the reality of removing the bad parts of us.
And putting on the divine nature. đ Ref 2 Pet 1:4
I find nature very clean. Last night I left for 1 hour by the sea. Now its waters are like a mirror. Seagulls feel like masters of the sea. They were very calm. In our open places for walks masks are optional. But I certainly wore it. Human traffic is very high.
Sounds like you had a lovely time outdoors. Enjoy it, stay safe.
