Yam is a tuber that is violet. The Good Shepherd convent in the mountain city here sells the best Yam jam that they make. But lately the violet color is gone and it’s now a while Yam jam that they are selling. I wonder what happened because I’m sure it is no yam anymore with the that color. More likely it is taro.
The Yam jam used to be exported to nearby countries and it is a hit with the good taste of the jam. But now the makers of the yam jam are worried that the white color will turn off the buyers especially the foreign customers. Maybe they have a point there.

Never heard of this before. Yams are like sweet potatoes in the US.
I have never heard of a white yam or yam jam. I wonder if it could be purchased here.

We have yam and it is off white.
