Irises are wonderful garden plants. The word Iris means rainbow. Irises come in many colors such as blue and purple, white and yellow, pink and orange, brown and red, and even black. These blooms are like a ray of sunshine, especially the yellow ones. Sharing a memory from my spring garden.

I like irises, and they are my daughter’s favourite flowers. Did you know that Iris was the ancient Greek goddess of the rainbow and messenger of the gods? Also, one more piece of trivia: The iris of the eyes is so called because it contains so many colours, like the rainbow 🙂
