A friend got us some avocado fruits. I used them and am slowly trying to get to like it as I do not like the raw taste. I also have plans to get it into our daily diet as I know it is packed with goodness
I had sown two of the seeds and almost after a month both have sprouted which I did not epxect The seeds are pretty large and I knew it would take long for them to sprout.
Hoping to transplant them in the ground after they get some leaves. I do have a tree but it has not yielded and I have no hopes it will It is over 20 years old

I won’t bother anymore … it’s not for my taste
I tried sprouting the seeds in a jar with water and they did ,I planted them in containers and it grew okay, however after a few months in the summer the plant which was a couple of feet tall died mysteriously. Now I am not even trying I try to get a grafted sapling which will bear fruits faster. I love avocados.
I have a huge tree Dawn but it has not yielded. I am told there should be two trees just like the nutmeg
Eating an avocado a day is good for your health. Avocados are a fun food to eat, they’re nutritious, and they’re a good source of monounsaturated fat, which can reduce your risk of heart disease. … Ripe avocados should yield to gentle pressure when squeezed. If they squeeze too easily, they are likely overripe.
I have to yet to acquire a taste for it and I am sure I will soon.
There are two seeds that have sprouted We already has an old tree which has not yieldled.
The avocado is a big tree that I think takes 5 years to bear fruit. But the main issue is that it needs another tree for pollination.
