There is always room for improvement and there are some simple things that you can do right away to become an even better good.
1.Get the right equipment. For example if you want a perfect steak get a great digital thermometer. You don’t have to spend a fortune, and invest on the things you will use the most.
2. Make your cookbook your friend. Make it exactly and noted and then write down any issue so you can tweak it next time.
3. Make sure your work area is well lit. (Invest in a great light bulb so you see what you are doing.)
4. Dry your salad greens using a kitchen towel. Get a freshly washed dry dish towel. Lay your green. Gather the ends and swing it till your arms have a had a little workout.
5. Cool your food before putting it in the fridge or freezer. Mold is the enemy. This reduces mold.
6. Caramelize more onions than you need. You can do amazing things if you have them ready. Think outside the recipe box.
7. Make compound butters.
8 Oil, salt, roast—in that order. (My Mom actually had a sign above the stove that said it.)
9. Make your own crouton. It’s quick, easy and you find many uses.
10. Practice, adjust, practice adjust, perfection, move on.
