This art form is called Kinetic sculpture and it stands in Batumi Georgia and is simply called Statues of Love sculpture inspired by the love story of “Ali and Nino” Created by Georgian artist Tamar Kvesitadze.
The story is much like Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and tells of an Azerbaijani youth who fell in love with a beautiful Georgian princess but he sadly dies in the defense of his country. The statues weigh in at a hefty 7 tons and at 7 P.M daily, they start their motion, going from distant strangers to friends then best friends to a final climactic culmination, becoming one, as lovers, then, true to the star-crossed lovers in the story of Romeo and his Juliet, they move through the relationship phases, only to finally part their ways once more and becoming strangers… The statues are controlled by computer and lit with special colored lighting for dramatic effect.

Never heard about this before but that is something really amazing.
Not familiar but would like to know more.
Hi Carol, did you watch the video above? The movements as they are drawn ever closer, they hypothetically go through the phases of attraction first they were strangers, standing far apart, then from 7 pm. they move ever closer until “they become one” then Ali, goes to war and dies, IE. strangers again until 7 pm. the next night. This is what the sculptor wants the piece to convey. There is something incredibly evocative about this piece of art https://youtu.be/I1QWdH2VLGE
