Sky Sunday – Golden hues

I took a series of photos of Bucklands Beach yesterday and we had visited a delightful cafe by this place. The people were very friendly and it was afternoon.

Being in the middle of winter, the days have been shorter and the shadows have grown longer.

Today, is our shortest day on June the 22nd. So from now on, each day will gain sunlight.

Of course, our Aucklands Dams have only 40% of their capacity and we have been told to restrict our use of water even over winter. There was 4 months of no rain in our previous summer. Well, there has been some rain but not as much as the dams need.

We will get through it somehow, but the Government will need to come up with some solutions for the growing population of Auckland. Where there was one place, divided into 3 homes on the same land. Three times as much water and sewage to deal with. With population growth and global warming comes change.

I am sure solutions will be found. Meanwhile my extra child’s pools will collect more rain for the garden in the future even though our pet Pukako uses it as his bath.

Maybe I will show off some more photos of the magical skies of Bucklands beach later on, it was a magnificent show..
