Three matches will be played in the Serie A that will have major implications on the standings in Italy. Four of the top five teams in the table will compete today. Here is the schedule.
Sassuolo at Inter Milan – 1:30 PM EST (ESPN+).
Lazio at Atalanta – 3:45 PM EST (ESPN).
Sampdoria at Roma – 3:45 PM EST (ESPN).
Inter Milan sits comfortably in 3rd place as they host 12th place Sassuolo, which is probably the best sounding name for a soccer team. That match is an appeasing appetizer for what lies ahead.
Fifth-place Roma will be hosting Sampdoria. Sampdoria will be playing with some desperation as they sit only one point outside of the relegation zone.
The main match that I will be watching is between 2nd place Lazio and 4th place Atalanta in Bergamo. Although Lazio and Atalanta have very good teams, I will be rooting for Atalanta because Lazio has the worst soccer fans on the planet. Do you want to know why? Click here and here and here.

This is their 2nd straight year of being good again. They were having money issues for a while, but they were bought by a Chinese company about 3 or 4 years ago. They are putting the money into the team now, so they will be fully back on track in a couple of years. I do not want Lazio to win the Serie A even though their team is real good because their fans are the worst. As you know, their full team name is SS Lazio.
