Saturday critters – Flying over the river

Ducks are perhaps the most popular birds, after hens, and they are spread throughout the world, on every continent, except Antarctica, where it would not withstand due to weather conditions. Ducks are omnivorous and eat everything they find, from grass, aquatic plants, insects, seeds, fruits, to fish, crustaceans.

Most species of ducks are monogamous during the mating season, but do not remain faithful to life. (do not follow their example).

What I find very interesting is the fact that a baby duck will immediately attach itself to the first creature he sees when it comes out of the egg, which is why the ducks are very careful to be present at this time.

  • Do you know that after mating, the male duck have a period of one month when their feathers fall and they are no longer able to fly?

    • Yes
    • No
