Ripening bananas

Old folks here say that bananas which ripen while still on the tree have more vitamins and nutrients than bananas that are harvested while still unripe. I subscribe to that adage because I never harvest my banana when there is no ripe banana yet. The picture is an example that is the indication for harvesting the banana.

  1. I cannot agree more Alex. The unripe bananas, if harvested, will be subjected to some chemical exposure for them to ripen. The natural way to ripe must be the best.

  2. We have a banana tree (one is enough with the size of it). We try to keep it on the plant as long as we can by covering it with cloth after it starts ripening before plucking it.
