Recently planted some new trees in my yard. This Red Dogwood is one of those. It was exciting to see the first new leaves on this tree. With the cold wether you never know how new trees will flourish. It will be awhile but hopefully this will be a beautiful tree eventually.
We always had these dogwood trees, usually in white, growing wild around us growing up. They bring back many wonderful memories.
Nature is so amazing. Each day it offers something new for me to learn about.

Thank you, I was excited to see my new tree starting to grow! It is the same species, so I hope it looks the same. The leaf is only a few days old. And my photo is a macro, very close with the camera to these leaves.
In Bulgaria I have a dogwood. I’m not sure if it’s the same. We give red fruits.
It sounds different, we don’t get fruits on ours.
that is the best sign spring is here when the dogwoods bloom! I hope your red dogwood grows into a majestic tree and shares its beauty every spring!

It really is. We have two different sections of our walk that have different blooms. It is always a tough transition the day the blooms are gone and replaced by leaves.
I like to step outside to see what kinds of trees are in the other residences myself. It makes me fell great to take a time out from work.
