The pros and cons of cow milk

Cow milk is a popular dairy milk. A substitute is goat milk. You can get it fresh from a cow in a dairy farm or in tins and cans from your local grocery store. This milk is derived from the breasts of cows or bovines. One good thing about this milk is that it is particularly high in nutrients such as proteins, vitamin B, Vitamin D, minerals, organic compounds and antioxidants that can affect and stimulate the body in several ways. It has several health benefits some of which I will mention. It can aid in weight loss, can help you build strong bones and teeth, it can boost the immune system, can reduce fat, protect the heart, prevent diabetes, eliminate inflammation and stimulate growth and development in children. These benefits are derived from drinking cow milk in moderate quantities.

On the other hand, cow milk can result in illness if taken in excessive amount. Some of the dangers of excessive consumption of cow milk include the following. It can result in fractures or risk of broken bones. It can increase the risk of prostate cancer. It can result in lactose intolerance which results in symptoms like nausea and diarrhea. Also, it can increase the severity of acne, increase weight gain and increase the cholesterol level in the blood. Excessive intake of cow milk can also result in bone loss or what is called calcium leaching. So, inform your doctor if you intend increasing your intake of cow milk.
