Here is an adenium flower waiting to bloom. The petals will open in a little while to display a very ordinary looking five petal bloom. However, at this specific moment, just before it opens fully it is pure drama and anticipation. There is promise of more than a regular looking flower. This is the moment of promise and hope.
Often times in life we are disappointed when we approach things with high hopes and anticipation. High expectation often makes things that are beautiful in their own right, seem like huge disappointments.
This bud will open in a pale pink color, but as it open it reveals a yellow heart with dark pink lines converging to the center. As the day passes the flower changes in so many unexpected ways. Shades or pink will emerge from those once pale petals, making the ordinary flower seem like a ethereal painting.
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty lies in the patient heart that waits to see the entire picture unfold. It lies in the willingness to see its worth.

anticipation can build into something beyond what we were originally getting. that is very frustrating if we let it happen!
That is so true. We often set our hopes to high.
i think it is the essence of what humanity does. we seek more without seeing what we have.
It is a stunning flower. Sometimes we set ourselves too high goals. Then we are disappointed if we don’t reach them.
