It is called puto bumbong which means it is cooked in a bamboo cylinder which gives it the shape of a cylinder. This native snack food usually appear only during the Christmas season. That was the tradition but now it is available in some malls any time of the year. The main ingredient of the puto bumbong is ground glutinous rice and grated coconut. After steaming for half a minute, the cooked puto bumbong is sprinkled with sugar and sesame seeds plus grated coconut before being served. Sometimes they also add butter.
