Marigolds are a favorite, no fuss annual that can bring the color of sunshine to your garden, as well as butterflies, bees, ladybugs, and other beneficial insects. Give them full sun and some well draining soil and watch them bloom from late spring until fall.
Marigold seeds germinate quickly, within just a few days, and bloom in about 8 weeks. This quick sense of satisfaction makes them a great first-time gardening project for kids and garden newbies.
Not to mention, marigolds are a great companion in your vegetable garden and can help protect your veggies from predators and pests.
Cannot wait to see these bloom this year, hopefully soon. This was taken a couple of years ago.

That is great, our spring is a little late this year it seems.
I am going to start a countdown like LindaOH did on Mylot.
Days to Carol’s Blooms
I am starting the counter at 10!!!!!
Ha that is a good one. The trees are filling in with leaves, everything is looking green. Very exciting.
10 days to full Narnia Bloom!!!!
Mine from last year have been sprouting new life. My hubby said that’s weeds growing. Nope, it is the Marigold’s popping out!!
Good for you Karen. Spring is such a happy time of the year in our gardens. But the marigolds here are not perennial. Lucky you!
Mmmm. That’s a nice photo. So sunny and warm looking. Reminds me of summertime. I do not have them, but I intend to order some.
Thanks Kim, waiting on this year’s. I wish they were perennial here.
Here as well, they are annuals. I wonder how seeds would do???
I hope they pop open for you soon. We are still playing in the snow.
Thank you, and i hope the snow is gone soon.
Beautiful flowers! It’s great they can help protect the vegetable garden, I didn’t know that.
Thanks Ellie. Still waiting on many this year to bloom. Yes, the smell keeps rabbits and deer away. My neighbors use them around their gardens.
