Ghostwriter
This is one of my favorite Christmas pictures. I grew up in a home where you went to bed Thanksgiving full and thankful and you woke up to Christmas. Every decoration was up but the tree, we did that together. When my parents sold the family home we grew up in we picked out some things we wanted. I have this picture and just like Mom did, it appears the day after Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow will be New Year’s Eve and in the morning this picture will be put away for another year. I have one more picture that was done by the same artist that appears on New Year’s Day. You probably won’t be able to see them on those days, but you will understand even if it takes a few days to approve.

We’ve started many traditions within our immediate family, but few of them have anything to do with new year or Christmas. For us, New Year has always been low-key.
