I cannot believe I am saying this, but I want a written transcript of Nancy Pelosi’s Filibuster. I have heard bits and pieces, but still I don’t get the point. I found the little story she told about her grandchild a little worrisome. I hope my grandchildren are simply happy with who they are and the things they stand for. I don’t want the to wish they had different color skin, eyes and such. I want them to look in the mirror and say “God made me perfect, just the way I am.”

Filibusters have a long history in congress and traditionally the party in power decries them but once they are on the other side and lack the votes to stop something they perceive as wrong the filibuster becomes their friend. Our political discourse has become so polarized that we are likely to see more filibusters in the future, regardless which party is in control.
