I do not know what kind of insect this is. I found her on a tree. It was well camouflaged. It is extremely small. I did not see her with the naked eye. While I was trying to photograph the lichens on the tree bark and I had the surprise that the “lichens” move. What seemed to be a lobe of a lichen was actually an insect. Unfortunately, I have not been able to identify it. If you know its name, leave a comment. Thank you!

Good thing they arent big! That would be one scary animal.
It looks scary as a larva but it’s pretty beautiful as an adult. And it is a good insect for the garden as I know!
Oh yeah, a surprise find!!
Of course Kim had the answer. I have seen this but never knew the name. Great shot.
😉 I have a plethora of useless knowledge. Grins, thank you Carol.
I think I should take advantage of your knowledge! I still have some unidentified insects!?
Post them, I can try to help!! 🙂
It is a lacewing larvae. They use lichen on the backs to camouflage.
Thank you, Kim! I knew the insect in the adult stage but it was the first time I saw it as larvae!
We have a lot of Lichen on our rocks around here. Weird when one moves right?
Pretty weird, really!?
