This was part of a special display celebrating the BBC TV series “Doctor Who.” The series premiered, believe it or not, on 23 Nov 1963 and is now shown all over the world. Tom Baker, the actor whose wax image is shown here, was the fourth actor to play the title role.
Editing was done using On1 Photo RAW 2020. In Develop mode I lowered the highlights, whites and blacks and increased the midtones and structure. Under Color I increased the vibrance. Details was set to High. Then I added the following filters: HDR Look (Natural), Color Balance (Warm Highlights) and Curves.

I haven’t watched Dr Who for years…
The new ones are a lot better than the old ones because it’s not so much of a kid’s show any more but the science is just as bad. Unfortunately the last season was terrible. They decided to go politically correct and give the role to a female actor. She wasn’t very good at it. It wasn’t all her fault though. The writing was abysmal.
Tom Baker is my favorite doctor, closely followed by David Tennant…
I think Baker is the favorite of a lot of people.
He was my first doctor, and you know what they say- you never forget your first doctor…
plus that scarf was deluxe!
My wife and I have one.
is it one big old tandem scarf?
Someone got the pattern from the BBC and a friend of ours knitted the scarf from it. It’s long. When my kids were young my wife would wrap it around her and wrap each end around one of the kids.
nice! cool of the BBC to put that out there
Great picture. I have never watched Doctor Who but I know it has been around for decades
Thanks, Halcombe. It’s an addicting show.
Very cool photo Gary, I have watched this before.
Thanks, Carol. My family are big fans. Sadly the production staff underwent some massive changes this last season and the program suffered. The writing was abysmal.
I have been to this museum and posed with Barbara Cartland my favourite author during my teenage years
It was quite some time ago that I was there. 1981 to be exact.
I too was there a few years ago. What I do not like now is that these days all and sundry feature there.
