Lone Zinnia – a memory

My determination to have zinnias back in my garden got me to go online and buy some zinnia seeds.  They all came up and I was dreaming of a zinnia field in my garden.

But that is not what happened.  None of the seedlings that I planted yielded despite all the care.  This flower that is seen in the photo is the sole zinnia that bloomed and that too in a plastic bag

I have no explanation for this strange behaviour.  I carefully stored this flower after it dried on the plant but I cannot trace it now.

No more zinnias unless I start the process all over again. Such is life.

  1. That is a lovely zinnia. At least you have one determined flower. Perhaps you’d do better to buy zinnias that have already bloomed and transplant them in your garden.
