During my vacation I also visited Knin and the fort. Knin fortress is one of the oldest fortresses in Europe, beginning of construction goes back to the Middle Ages. The Knin Fortress is an imposing military object, being the second largest preserved fortification in Europe. The fort is, of course, also the most recognizable symbol of the town of Knin and also a very important Croatian monument. The Knin fortress is located on the southern part of the Spas hill, which dominates the entire Knin field as well as beyond. The fortress is 470 meters long and 110 meters wide at the widest part. The defensive walls that completely encircle the fort are 20 meters high in some places, and the entire length of the defense wall measures 2 kilometers. Within the walls, the fort occupies an enviable 48,000 square meters of surface. It is located at an altitude of about 340 meters, which is about 100 meters above the town of Knin.

in the days of old when two kingdoms were at war, both would try to “storm” or attack the other kingdoms castle!
That’s what you meant. I thought so. I’ve been thinking for a few days now whether or not I should write a post about it. This is still a very “sensitive” topic. During my vacation, I learned a lot about relations between the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
I often forget that horrible war. I was near it four times.
