Ellie925 Thanks for the idea. Last weekend when by boys were here I didn’t know what to make for breakfast and I had very little time before we went out. I remembered your post and made it just from memory, I didn’t even have the time to check your post for details.
Here you go , mine doesn’t look as great as yours , because I had very little time to arrange the slices too well. It tasted amazing and was a great hit with the boys.
I was sad that I forgot to take a picture of the French toast pudding, but my older boy sent me the picture telling me that he was miss my cooking. I took a short cut though, I made it in the microwave over with the bowl placed on a bigger bowl of water . It took me 4-5 minutes max. I made three such bowls and the boys wolfed it down in a wink.
Thanks Ellie925 for saving the day!!

This was very cool! I am always inspired by many here.
That is the best part about Virily. Thanks Carol.
I am so happy to hear that your boys liked the recipe! 🙂 If yours was easier and quicker to make, then it’s definitely better! I am always looking for shortcuts myself. I will try this microwave version soon.
But the toasty , crisp oven baked finesse may not be there. I will try it in the oven once. Thanks Ellie once again.
My wasn’t very crispy either, because I kept in the fridge and we ate it on the next day, but everyone liked it. You can add some nuts for a variety in the texture. 🙂
It looks very tasty. I’ll try this recipe too. There are a lot of useful ideas found on Virily. Thanks to all the members ?
There are quite a few great ideas floating around. I always try things that I am interested in.
It is not just virils but what we learn here could be more valuable.
That is so true. I enjoy reading about the stuff that interests me.
i have tried to replicate many of Ellie’s recipes, mine never look as good as hers. Yours looks really good!!
Actually it wasn’t a proper recipe Doc. Ellie had posted the idea with the picture and it was fun to recreate it.
i read that in your post, i was simply saying you got closer estimating than I get following the exact recipe.
I also made it without following a recipe. It’s awesome that it works every time.
Taste is what matters! I never got to post some of my most beautiful creations, because the taste wasn’t right.
That is true, its all about taste.
