Traditions are interesting and many hold them dear. I have never celebrated May Day and I found lots of the things that people used to do to celebrate. I vaguely remember we tried to do the May pole thing at school, but we were hindered by the snow and lack of coordination.
I did find it interesting that long ago in Scotland they used to honor their neighbors by putting yellow flowers around the yard. (If it gets a little warmer today we might have some dandelions pop up.)

We celebrate Labor Day on this day. It’s a holiday so I am thankful. While others are celebrating I am also devoting time for my online work.
There is no May Day celebrations that I know of in my town.
when I was in grade school back in NYC every May 1 us kids had to dance around the May Pole at school. Then I moved to Latvia and May 1 there is Labor Day and is an official holiday but the only ones celebrating are the old school Russians who miss the Soviet days. Now I am back in the U.S. and even though I am not celebrating today I am going to give honor to May by going for a walk on the beach Saturday.

Not a holiday but I remember dancing in school around the maypole.
I don’t think we ever did that. Maybe there was always too much snow.
We don’t have May day celebrations here in the United States, but today is my husband’s birthday so, my family does celebrate.
I think some places have little ceremonies, but we didn’t no anything in my little town.

It’s Labor Day in Italy, but we mostly celebrate my mother’s birthday.

I have always enjoyed watching May Day celebrations. I also don’t think about it, now Cinco de Mayo, is one I celebrate!!!!

Sounds perfect! It is a fun holiday. May Day is cool, but I don’t understand what we are really celebrating.
