This year I have been late in planting my cabbages. I don’t know why, but I forgot. So by this weekend I need to have sowed my cabbage seeds.
I love eating fresh cabbage from the garden. They are so crisp and taste so different from the store bought ones. My broccoli haven’t been doing too well this year. They have been attacked by butterflies, maybe I should say it is their offspring that eat up my broccoli. The cruciferous veggies are easy targets for butterflies. they lay their eggs under the leaves of these plants and these succulent leaves become greater fodder for the caterpillars.
Butterflies or not I am going ahead with planting my cabbages broccoli and such. I have always had great success with cabbages. Once I cut off the heads of cabbage new cabbages of smaller size grows on the plant which are bonuses.

Cabbages need a cooler climate and so I cannot grow them here.
The climate I live in is not cool, it is kind of hot and dry. I just grow them in a shaded area where there is no direct sun. You can grow them easily under your trees if you are interested. Cabbages are pretty easy to grow too.
I have tried growing and I know cabbages here in India are a winter crop
I love cabbage! You reminded me that I haven’t eaten it much lately. Time to change that.
Eat up those cabbages, enjoy them!!
I like cabbage very much as a salad … I didn’t have it in my garden … maybe plant it for another year
It really tastes so different from the store bought ones. Try growing it if the conditions permit.
Our cabbage thrives very well …. farmers plant it all over the fields
I love cabbage, especially in salad. I forgot to plant a winter salad ?. So I will spring without an early salat.
Oh no, but you can always get them in the store.
I do not have a garden but cabbage is good.
You mean a veggie garden? Yeah I love cabbages.
Cabbage is even great for weight loss and beautiful skin!
There are only 33 calories in a cup of cooked cabbage, and it is low in fat and high in fiber. Cabbage also helps keep skin looking health, toned, blemish-free and glowing; it’s rich in antioxidants (including vitamin C and beta-carotene
That is so true. It is the best dieting food ever along with other cruciferous veggies. Thanks for that great reminder and cabbage facts,
