Another Chinese superstition that I heard is about the gold. Not all that glitters is gold but gold can attract good luck especially about financial luck. That is the principle of one Feng Shui master that the more golden objects that we have at home, the more good luck that will enter our house.
But come to think of it. The gold color has a natural attraction to our eyes. When you see something on the ground that is colored red, not much notice but when it is gold in color, you would investigate. So maybe the gold color is related to the brightness or the appeal of the color and not exactly for its being gold. What do you think?

I prefer silver but gold is nice too.
I think it has to do with its nature – the stone itself and the color.
I like the color gold because it is a glowing and warm color
