Global Warming

This cover of TIME caught my attention. Not only for having a Portuguese figure on the cover, but also for focusing on one of the main issues of this century: Global Warming.

Is there anything we can do to try to minimize the situation? Yes, there! Many!

Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse:And above all, to be an example for the little ones, the things we have always done and are part of our routine, are kept in a natural way. So if we teach kids to recycle and care for the planet from an early age, this type of advice will become a natural way of being in life! 🙂

Maximize Natural Lighting and Turn Off the Lights:Simple gestures such as changing house lamps for environmentally friendly options, turning off the lights in rooms that are not being used, and choosing extensions with the option of turning off all appliances, are small actions that we can improve on our day-to-day life. Each point of light makes a difference, every day!

Reduce Meat Consumption:I do not suggest that you become vegetarians if you do not identify with this food chain. But the data are blatant and made available by the World Health Organization, we consume much more meat than the one produced naturally, plus the number of gases emitted into the atmosphere associated with the production and consumption process. So varying meals and sources of protein is a great way to start helping the planet.

Repair instead of Exchange:How many spoiled things do we have at home and replace them before we repair? Increasingly society suggests that we do things this way. It is faster and causes less discomfort. This applies to almost every object with which we relate. The time we use to repair ends up being considered a waste, but the truth is that repairing instead of throwing away, reduces not only the ecological impact but reduces the new consumption (and all that implies).

Choose Appliances with good energy efficiency:When we go to a commercial area the appliances are marked with the energy class. And usually the most economical are also those that have a more inviting price. The initial investment is lower, but the energy expenditure is higher, which ends up making the product more expensive in the long run. Of course: consecutively, more energy expenditure means more impact on the planet.
