The term Geomancy originated from Ancient Greek geōmanteía translates literally to “foresight by earth”. In the beginning, Geomancy was performing by drawing on sand, or on dirt. There are 16 Geomancy figures that are made from randomly drawn numbers of lines or dots. The figures are entered into a specialized table, known as the shield chart, which illustrates the recursive processes reminiscent of the Cantor set that form the figures and according to place (the house) where a certain figure is, the fortune is predicted.

It is very interesting. 🙂 Yes, I know how to do it, although it’s been a while, since my last geomancy theme setting….. 🙂
Hahahaha, never mind that. I am not easy to get offended. 🙂 Just don’t downvote, please. 😀
I would really love to, but this month I am facing with some existential problems and can’t focus on anything else. Next month when/if I solve them, I’ll be more than happy to open a geomancy theme for you. 🙂
This is something once I have read at a glance and never tried to learn it deeper.
Trust me, it is worth trying. 😉
Is it true? Give me enlightenment, please…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomancy Her you can see what this is about. I have a Geomancy book, way before the internet. 😀
I’ll read it very soon! Thanks!
i love these idea very helpful
Thanks. 🙂 Glad to hear that. 🙂
loved answering, loved the images too.
Thanks. 🙂 I hope you had fun, too. 🙂
This is my first time to learn of geomancy.
Really? I hope you found it interesting. 🙂
Interesting but wouldn’t attempt it.
My understanding of I Ching is that it works by tapping into a primal force (Tao) and reflects the changes in much the same way a barometer reflects the weather…
Basically, that’s it. That’s why it’s called The Book Of Changes.
So what is the underlying rationale behind geomancy?
It’s too complicated for one comment. Just google it. But considering similarity between yijing and geomancy, there are many of them, as many as differences. You can even combine those two (of course, you need to be the master of both disciplines). I suppose that people on different parts of the Earth have come to the certain conclusions at the same time. Differences have been dictated by their backgrounds (religion, geography, traditions…..).
Okay, like numerology is supposedly a micro reflection of the macro. Some types of divination are meant to work by sympathetic magic. Some of them, I have no idea why they’re meant to work…
I’ve never heard of him.
It’s an ancient foretelling discipline that originates from Persia. It’s similar to yijing (I Ching in Mandarin), a classic divination text, known as Book Of Changes. It seems that this topic is pretty intriguing, so I’ll write more about that in next posts. 🙂
Sounds very interesting, I will have to do some research.
It is interesting. Once you get it, you’ll see it could be really enlightening. 🙂
