This morning, since everyone else was up my husband finally gave up and got up. He was reading about fumage and the way artists use flame and smoke to create pictures. He was very interested and spent a couple of hours learning about the process. (In the back of my mind all I could think, is please don’t play with fire!)
He found this picture and says he “needs” to know if it is a bluebird. I tried my go-to answer “Probably So” and that didn’t bring any satisfaction or closure. He suggested that I ask Carol DM. I pointed out that she didn’t create the art and probably wouldn’t know.
That didn’t go over well at all. My next step was to put it “out here” and see if anyone answers so he can move on and focus on something else. That might work.
This seems to be stuck in drafts so I going to try and edit.

i am going to go with its a gray bird!
but I would of course, defer to Carol!
I have to agree with Carol that it is most likely a bluebird. It is a very interesting concept.
This looks very much like a bluebird. I have researched other species for the past hour, but I came back to bluebird. It is a beautiful piece of art. I would love to learn more about fumage.
I think its a blue bird
