“Remember, FEAR narrows the eyes of the mind!”
The well respected, relationships expert, and bestselling author, Doctor Harriet Lerner, a staff psychologist of the Menninger clinic in the U.S. had this to say recently,
“The current Coronavirus crisis is not the only stressor most of us are dealing with, If your dog just died, you lack economic resources or necessary social services or your partner is leaving you — Well, the current world crisis will obviously hit you harder than if everything in your life was otherwise moving along swimmingly.”
It is normal, she says, to feel overwhelmed but what we should avoid, is labeling ourselves as “weak” or comparing ourselves to others. Everyone, at every given moment, is confronting challenges we may not even vaguely recognize, let alone understand.
