Exploring the Word Culture

Culture it a big, all encompassing word. It means so many different things to different people and it’s time to take a good long healthy look at the word. I was chatting with the woman who  married my nephew. She was explaining her culture to me and it was amazing. She had customs, rituals, languages and beliefs I have never experienced. She considered her culture the past and things that were handed down from generation to generation.  I accept her definition and interpretation. It’s her heart and her story. I embrace that for and with her. 

Then I asked the next question that was hanging in my heart. So do you think your children will have a more encompassing and broader culture than you and I? There is a bit of a language barrier so she told me to hang on and went to talk with her husband.
